Mental Health Check In

Just a check in and a quick reminder that we are here.

The number of people reporting symptoms of depression and anxiety are on the rise because well...this year is a struggle for so many of us.  The pandemic and everything associated with it plus the political environment have left us feeling weary and sometimes hopeless.  We see you, and we are here for you when you need us.  Please give us a call if you’re struggling to see the light at the end of the tunnel and needing some help to find your way out.  In the meantime, we’re sending love and positive thoughts to all of you.

5 small things to do this week to lift you up:

  1. Call your favorite friend:  This may not be your best friend but the one person who always makes you smile, laugh, and feel a little better about life.

  2. Meditate/Pray:  Try to focus on right now and forget, for just a moment, everything going on in the world right now.  Breathe into it and allow yourself just to sit still for a minute in a quiet place without interruption.

  3. Take a walk:  Take a stroll without your earpods and just pay attention to what you see, hear, feel, and smell.  Listen to the birds, feel the sun on your skin, smell the air, and notice the small things.  Really look up and look around.

  4. List out your gratitude:  What 10 things are you thankful for this week?  Write them down in a place you can see and add to your list as you encounter or think about new things.

  5. Play your favorite songs (the ones that always make you smile):  Make a playlist, turn them up loud, and sing and dance as hard as you can.

BONUS:  Hug everyone in your home for at least 10 seconds.  Really be present and in the same space with them.  Breathe.
